Digital Aid is a non-profit company overseen by the Greek Ministry of Regional Development and Competitiveness. The main objective of the company is to support the implementation of state aid funding projects within the framework of the Operational Programme "Digital Convergence" (OP DC) of the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2007-2013.
Specifically, the company:
a) Facilitates citizen and business access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
Digital Aid manages state aid projects which aim at increasing ICT penetration across all aspects of economic and social life. These projects are either designed by the Special Secretariat of Digital Planning of the Greek Ministry of Regional Development and Competitiveness or by other ministries that assign to Digital Aid the implementation.
b) Assists various agencies in implementing projects for the NSRF 2007 - 2013
Within the NSRF 2007 - 2013, the company supports Intermediary Management Agencies that implement state aid projects. Furthermore, Digital Aid either as a sponsor or as an Intermediary Management Agency undertakes the monitoring and funding of ICT projects targeting citizens and/or businesses. Digital Aid also carries out technical assistance projects to assist with the achievement of the objectives of the OP DC as well as with the achievement of the objectives of the respective Regional Operational Programmes on new technologies.
c) Promotes the benefits of ICT
Digital Aid identifies, promotes and communicates the practical advantages of ICT in everyday life. Both during and following the implementation of projects, the company promotes best practices of companies, groups of citizens or other target groups.
